Thank you so much for choosing to volunteer to usher and/or work concessions at Edmonds Driftwood Players' Wade James Theater! We realize you could spend your time doing many different things but we appreciate your support of the Arts in your local community. It is YOUR smile and warm greeting that leaves a lasting impression and makes the night a success!

Please NOTE that the evening performances begin at 8pm. All matinees begin at 2pm. We ask that all ushers and concessions workers arrive no later than 6:45pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings; 12:45pm for Saturday and Sunday matinee performances. House managers will give out quick reminders and assign tasks before the lobby opens.

Instructions for ushers: at the beginning of your shift before the doors to the theater open, we ask that you greet guests, pass out programs and support the house manager in whatever tasks are needed. When the doors open, 2 ushers will need to stand on each side of the house. One to rip ticket stubs and one to pass out programs and answer questions. After the show, all will be released to go home approximately 20 minutes after the show (ushers assist the house manager by picking up programs, trash, or lost and found that might be left in our house after the patrons leave). Please check in with the house manager before leaving after the performance to ensure all duties have been completed.

Instructions for Concessions: set out juice, water, cookies, make coffee, greet patrons and help them feel welcome. Assist the house manager with any tasks needed. Concessions jar and tag are kept in the old box office which is now storage.

You will have the privilege of attending the performance for free the evening you work. It might be fun to sign up with a friend or for multiple shifts if you love the show. (If for any reason, you are unable to be seated, you will receive a comp ticket for another performance.) Three seats on each side of the house have been reserved for the Mainstage shows for the entire season. You will receive your ticket from the house manager. These seats were selected to make the job of ushering easier because they are near the door so please sit in the seat assigned to you.
