Now in its 17th year, Ashland Train Day is a FREE event for the whole family. More than 100 community volunteers keep the street festival and railfan extravaganza running smoothly. We need friendly people aged 14 and older to help welcome participants. Please commit to a job below.
When you arrive to start your volunteer shift, check-in at Headquarters--201 Duncan Street. Headquarters is marked with a V (for Volunteer Check-in) on the event map. We will provide you written information, directions, and an orange safety vest. You will then walk to your volunteer job location.
Headquarters will also offer coffee, snacks, water, and a hearty lunch for all volunteers and first responders. Help yourself anytime during the day!
At the end of your shift, please return your safety vest to Headquarters and provide any feedback we may need to keep the event running smoothly.
The weather prediction is chilly and clear for Saturday. Please choose comfortable shoes for standing and walking, and wear layered clothing and gloves for warmth. Bonus points for bib overalls, bandanas, and other railroad-themed attire!
All event info is online at ashlandtrainday.com. Please spend a few minutes to read the event map and schedule before you arrive. Event participants will ask you for directions throughout the day.
Thanks for your help!
