First Landing State Park ICC Beach Cleanup and Data Collection! signup sheet

Join First Landing State Park volunteers to collect and document the litter on our Chesapeake Bay beach.

The Ocean Conservancy has more than half a century of impact removing plastic trash, marine debris, and other waste from our public waterways. We work with Clean Virginia Waterways to hold International Coastal Cleanups (ICC) each year in our Park.

The goal of an ICC event is not just to remove the litter, it's also to record the type and amount of trash that washes up on our shoreline. Hundreds of beach cleanups each year provide ocean researchers with a robust dataset to better understand ocean pollution and its sources.

Come out and join us! All supplies will be provided. Dress for the weather, and bring a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated.

Meet at the CBC (Chesapeake Bay Center) at the Park, on the campground/beach side of Shore Drive.
Saturday, November 21, 10 AM - 12 PM.
