VOLUNTEER TENT - This is where all volunteers arrive and are given their assignments, issued volunteer packet, which includes a radio (optional) t-shirt, food and beverage tickets, and volunteer pin. The position requires reviewing volunteer checklist that includes their role, time, and shirt size. Excellent communication skills are essential to ensure that the volunteer tent worker is able to communicate to the volunteer checking in, their job responsibilities, shift timeline, the process to effectively execute their job, and what to do if they have questions or issues. The volunteer will be able to read their job description while checking in, and ask any questions they might have. Volunteer Tent workers are one of the more significant jobs, in that they help set the volunteers up for success by clarifying the job duties which will lead to ensuring the best Hot Chicken Festival Ever.
