The Nashville Hot Chicken Coalition was created to provide a platform for the education about this uniquely-Nashville food, while also furthering the cause of Nashville Hot Chicken. The board is made of community volunteers and civic leaders. It is a not-for-profit organization and all funds raised benefit the Nashville Parks Foundation.
Join in the fun by volunteering for the festival. Spots include setup, beer serving, ID check, Kids area helpers, trash patrol, and more! Every volunteer gets a one-of-a-kind volunteer t-shirt designed by students at Watkins School of Art at Belmont University AND two free beer tickets to use at the event.
The annual Music City Hot Chicken Festival was created in 2007, bringing together the local community and visitors to celebrate the uniquely-Nashville dish, Hot Chicken. The FREE event is held in East Park on July 4th each year and starts with the Fire Truck Parade through the streets of East Nashville. Visitors can enjoy Hot Chicken from Nashville's best Hot Chicken establishments, cold beer from local breweries, and other delicious edibles from local vendors. Live music from local bands keeps the "Nashville" vibe going all day long and visitors can look on while teams try their hand at cooking up their version of Hot Chicken in an Amateur Cooking Competition. Afterward, visitors can make their way downtown for the annual fireworks display.
