The Western Ontario Drama League’s Festival 2026 will be hosted by the Hanover Community Players and promises to be a dazzling
celebration of live theatre with a “Fabulous Fifties” flair! The top three of Ontario’s finest community drama groups will come to our area to compete by showcasing their performances for our patrons.
Drama workshops, and a fabulous Gala top off the event with vintage décor setting the stage for an electrifying celebration of performance.
Volunteers are required in many areas of the before, during and after the Festival which is May 14-17 2026.
Job Description:
Poster Distributor - Go around down and get permission to display our poster. This would be in various store fronts, etc. This would be after we announce the finalist.
Hospitality Room Supervisor - Hang out in the Hospitality Room in the hotel during the day. Assist with Festival participants by giving directions to local amenities; ensuring space and hotel is respected, etc. One or two needed.
Opening Ceremony Greeter - Welcome invited guests to the Opening Ceremony. Distribute name tags and encourage participants to go inside. Before guests arrive help get things set up.
Lunch and Snack Volunteer - Be at the Theatre to help prepare and distribute snacks/lunch to the participating groups. Snack/Coffee breaks are at 9:30a and 3p. Lunch is at 12pOne or two needed.
