WINTER FEBRUARY PAVILION VOLUNTEERS signup sheet
PLEASE CHECK THE WEBSITE BEFORE YOU LEAVE HOME TO MAKE SURE THE PAVILION IS OPEN!!!
1. Introduce yourself to the staff, and ask them to show you how you can help when it get busy.
2. If the Community Outreach Table is not set up, ask staff for the Community Outreach box. Inside the box are two yellow binders and one illustrates how the area is set up.
3. Take a few moments to become familiar with the information inside the yellow binders.
PAVILION TASKS:
As this is a Community Outreach task, ONLY SIGN UP IF YOU LIKE TO ENGAGE AND INTERACT WITH PEOPLE.
Your task for the day is to promote the club, explain the volunteering benefits, provide visitors information about the trail system and assist paid staff with rentals when required.
Sunday Staff is also asked to help Jack Rabbit Manager as needed. Jack Rabbits meet on the hill at 1:30 pm, so expect the pavilion to become busy.
A GREAT WAY TO ENGAGE PEOPLE IS TO START BY ASKING WHETHER THEY ARE MEMBERS OR GUESTS.
Main Message we want to promote.
MEMBERS:....
1. Volunteer this season to qualify for a reduced membership next year. Explain benefits to new members and non Volunteer Members.
2. Inform them of Volunteer Opportunities are now found on line. There is a printed copy of all the Volunteer Opportunities in the yellow binder. Show them how them how to sign up.
3. Ladies Day, Race Day, Mono Winterfest, Family Day all require many volunteers.
4. Now that most of the Club tasks are posted on line, it is the Member's responsibility to self initiate Volunteering.
5. Remind Members to sign in, scan their QR code for insurance purposes before entering the trails, especially if entering from the lower parking lot. No sign in option currently located in the pavilion.
6. Let all women above the drinking age, of LADIES DAY, Saturday January 18th, 9 to 1:00 pm. $40.00 for lunch, glass of wine, trail guide, skis rentals and trail pass.
GUESTS:
1. Explain trail etiquette of not damaging the trail. If you must take off your skis, please walk on the very edge of the trail, single file and do not damage the tracks. To preserve the trail, no walking, sledding, tobogganing, dog walking.
2. Make suggestions re: trail routes outlined in the one of the yellow binders.
3. Especially if local, check out membership, as new member fee very reasonable.
4. Let people know about the outdoor washroom, located beside the gazebo in the cement building. It is open daily, a good thing to know when the pavilion is not open.
SET UP AND TAKE DOWN:
SATURDAY VOLUNTEER:
1. Display material is located in the storage room, on your left as you enter the room. Slides in between the podium and wall. You can ask Staff for assistance.
2. Set up the semi round table beside the fireplace. See display set up in yellow binder. Hang Sign up Poster using the hooks high up under the shades.
3. Hang the poster of Volunteer tasks, plus one other one on the windows. Open the drapes, hooks are located up high under the blinds.
SUNDAY VOLUNTEER:
1. At the end of your shift, take down display material, put inside the plastic bag and then into the box. Return the box to the storage room, to the left as you enter the room and slide the box between the wall and podium. Staff can help with the storage in the room.
