Volunteer Role: 50/50 Ambassador

Role Overview
50/50 Ambassadors are an important part of one of the Norfolk County Fair's most exciting fundraisers. Volunteers engage with fairgoers throughout the grounds, encouraging participation in the 50/50 draw while creating positive interactions with guests. Every ticket sold helps support the Norfolk County Agricultural Society and contributes to the continued success of the Fair.

Responsibilities

* Welcome and engage with fairgoers in a friendly, enthusiastic manner.
* Promote the 50/50 draw and encourage guests to purchase tickets.
* Sell tickets using handheld devices or designated sales stations (training provided).
* Process cash and electronic payments accurately and securely.
* Answer questions about the draw, including rules, prize amounts, and draw times.
* Share how proceeds from the 50/50 draw support the Norfolk County Agricultural Society and future Fair initiatives.
* Maintain sales supplies and ensure equipment is organized and functioning throughout the shift.
* Work collaboratively with fellow volunteers and staff to maximize participation across the fairgrounds.
* Represent the Norfolk County Fair & Horse Show with professionalism, enthusiasm, and exceptional customer service.

Skills & Qualities
* Friendly, outgoing, and comfortable engaging with the public.
* Strong communication and customer service skills.
* Confident promoting the draw and encouraging participation.
* Responsible and trustworthy when handling cash and electronic payments.
* Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
* Comfortable walking and standing for extended periods in an outdoor event environment.

Time Commitment
Dates: October 6–12, 2026
Flexible day and evening shifts are available throughout the Fair. Volunteers may be asked to arrive approximately 15–30 minutes before their scheduled shift for orientation and equipment setup.
