NCF2026 - Rec Centre Activities - Ag Awareness/Kid's Area signup sheet

Role Overview:
Rec Centre Ag Awareness + Kids Activity Ambassadors help bring agriculture to life in a fun, family-friendly setting at the Norfolk County Fair & Horse Show. These volunteers welcome families into the Rec Centre’s Ag Awareness extension, guiding children and parents through interactive activities, exhibits, and games. They play a key role in creating a safe, engaging, and educational experience for young fairgoers.

Responsibilities:
Greet families and children warmly as they enter the Ag Awareness & Kids Activity area.
Assist with hands-on stations such as Eising’s planting station, Virtual Reality headsets, toys, games, and colouring pages.
Provide guidance and encouragement to children as they participate in activities.
Keep the activity space clean, organized, and safe throughout the day.
Answer basic questions about the Ag Awareness program and direct patrons to related exhibits.
Monitor supplies (colouring sheets, craft items, etc.) and notify staff when replenishment is needed.
Represent the Fair in a friendly, approachable manner while engaging with families.

Skills & Qualities:
Enjoy working with children and families in an interactive environment.
Friendly, patient, and approachable.
Able to multitask and monitor a busy activity space.
Responsible, attentive, and proactive in keeping the area tidy and welcoming.
Comfortable learning about and sharing simple agricultural awareness messages.

Time Commitment:
Shifts available daily during the Fair (October 7 – 13, 2025).
Volunteers may choose morning, afternoon, or evening shifts depending on availability.
