VOLUNTEER POSITIONS

~Energizer Station: Help set up the Energizer Station, greet riders, prepare & distribute refreshments, and cheer on the riders!

~Bike Valet: HBL will provide tents, chairs, pop-up bike racks, & a bike valet kit for you to use. A friendly HBL staff member will go over the bike valet process with you (it’s really simple!). Guests queue with their bike and provide their contact information on a valet tag. A numbered valet tag is attached to the bicycle handlebars and provided to the guest. You don’t have to bring anything, just yourself (and aloha vibes!). Bike valet volunteers should be able to lift a bike (about 20lbs) and place it on the bike rack. For heavier bikes and e-bikes we recommend parking them free-standing or leaned against a secure structure instead of lifting and hanging them on the bike rack.

~Cycle Swap Meet: Volunteers will help unload items & get tables set-up for the swap meet (which starts at 11am), and if needed, help vendors as they arrive. Breakdown is just like set-up - but in reverse!

~Bike Lane Cleanup: Help beautify the Ward Bike Lane by picking up trash!

~Bike to the Train Bike Valet / Guardian: this team will operate a Bike Valet for event attendees at the Hawaiian Railway Society while attendees ride the train. Please note that you are unable to go on the train ride portion of the event in this role.

~Helmet Giveaway: HBL has 300 new bike helmets to be given out to the community (for free!). Each person that gets a helmet will first get their head measured in order to provide them a helmet that fits them properly. Volunteers will help make this possible! HBL staff will be at the event and provide training for all volunteers on how to size/fit a helmet before their shift begins.

~Bike Month Pau Hana: General help. Includes: set up, break down, check in.
