Volunteer with Yujin Gakuen to celebrate the Year of the Horse at our Oshogatsu Festival on Friday, January 23rd, 2026!
In order to make this a fun and memorable event, we need your help! Volunteers are needed to help set up booths, supervise activities, and clean up afterwards. No previous experience or training required. Your time and energy are all we need, everything else will be provided!
Most activity shifts will be available in 30-minute increments from 5:30-7:30pm. Feel free to sign up for multiple shifts if you can! Please plan to arrive 5-10 minutes prior to starting your shift to allow for transition time. Prior to the event, an email with day of specifics will be sent out to volunteers.
There are performances planned for the following grades throughout the evening, all of which will be located in the gym; please double check this schedule before signing up so you don't miss your child's performance!
5:30 2nd Grade Umi class Eisa Dance (10 min)
5:45 2nd Grade Yama class Eisa Dance (10 min)
6:00 2nd Grade Singing (10 min)
6:10 5th Grade Dance (10 min)
6:20 Kinders Singing (10 min)
6:30 Taiko Performance by outside organization (10 min)
7:00 Taiko Performance by outside organization (10 min)
7:10 5th grade Dance (10 min)
Student volunteer shifts are open to any middle and high school students with community service hours available upon request.
The Set-Up Crew is needed in the 2 hours prior to event and the Clean-Up Crew will be needed for approximately 1 hour after the event concludes. If you want to help with either of these options, but cannot commit to the full time slot, please sign up anyway and let us know your availability at volunteercoordinator@yujingakuenpto.com.
