OPEN TO THE PUBLIC - “Arranging Flowers Picked in your Garden” by Sharon Tooley Where: Old Poway Park Great Room (by Gazebo and park office). You will learn tips and techniques for arranging flowers from your yard and how to make your creations last longer. Sharon will use the National Garden Club elements of design. Sharon is a National Garden Club Flower Show Judge.

OPEN TO THE PUBLIC - “Weeding out Horticultural Myths: Useful Tips for a Successful and Earth-Friendly Garden” by Dawn Standke Where: Old Poway Park Great Room (by Gazebo and park office). It's easy to find gardening advice online - but how much makes sense? Join us for some Horticultural Myth Busting. Our presenter, Dawn Standke, is a University of California Master Gardener since 2005.

PVGC MEMBERS ONLY - “Native Plant Gardening/A Garden for Wildlife” by Michael and Criselda Yee Where: The Yee Home. Bring your questions about native plants, water harvest, and water management in a Poway garden! Please wear sturdy shoes.

OPEN TO THE PUBLIC - “The Abraxas High School Garden Experiment” by Bob Lutticken Where: Old Poway Park Great Room (by Gazebo and park office). Poway’s Abraxas High School has successfully integrated the production of fish and crops. You will learn what grows well in Poway school gardens and how aquaponics can yield thousands of pounds of produce.

OPEN TO THE PUBLIC - "Inspired by Nature: Field Observations of Our Native Succulents and Pointers for Drought-Tolerant Gardening" by Dean Karras Where: Old Poway Park Great Room (by Gazebo and park office). Dean will share his habitat observations of cacti, succulents, and other xerophytes native to our local chaparral and deserts and discuss how his field observations have informed his approach to drought-tolerant gardening..

OPEN TO THE PUBLIC - “Garden Therapy and the Harvest of Hope” by Roy Wilburn Where: Poway Gardens Senior Living, 12695 Monte Vista Road, Poway. We will end the week with a bash at the Poway Gardens with their beautifully manicured landscape and award-winning Garden Therapy Program. Learn about the benefits of gardening for everyone, visit their Farmers Market, enjoy the food, listen to music, and help raise funds for the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
