Responsibilities
Once monthly: WEB
Update the Home page with a featured event for the upcoming month, linking to a subpage.
Update the calendar as needed
Annually/ad hoc: WEB
At the start of the school year: update PTA Board profiles and all program web pages.
Ensure that Board members are clear on their responsibility to update their own program pages, and make sure they have access and instructions.
Only as time allows: update additional subpages as well. Optimize design for consistency/cleanliness…and prettiness, if you can. Housekeeping on the media folders please! We need lots of pretty images for the website and the folders get messy.
Every ~2 weeks and ad hoc as needed: FACEBOOK GROUP [If there is a Facebook Admin Committee, this will be an oversight role]
Watch for questions from members that aren't getting answered by the group. You can flag it for the appropriate Board member by @ ing them in a Comment.
Manage group membership: review new joiners and new member requests.
Be highly suspicious of new joiners, more than half of the "new members" are trolls or bots. If their Facebook profile looks weird and if they didn't answer the Membership questions like a real person, then ban them.
Manage Featured posts. Try to keep to a maximum of 2 or 3 and make sure they're timely and important, e.g., relevant to all current families and has a call to action and a deadline.
Create Events for key PTA items. This is easy, just a little tedious:
Reference the dates in the most recent Klainer Friday email
No need for events for ALL key dates, only for the major PTA-led stuff, e.g., PTA General Meetings, Kinder Night Out, fundraisers, etc.
Invite the entire Group to the Event so it gets flagged in their notifications
For fun: please post any positive/fun news from our community that you come across. Anything that makes folks feel proud and happy of what we've got going on!
Time commitment
2-4 hours per month. The hardest part is simply remembering to do it!
