Help guide families through the Christmas Giveaway!
Family Hosts will escort families through the event and help children select a book, stuffed animal, and toy. Hosts will also assist families in Olivia's Corner, where children will select one gift for a caregiver that will be wrapped for them to give at Christmas.
This position involves a lot of walking, talking, and assisting families with carrying their collected items. Hosts will also help ensure adults do not enter child-only areas. Additional volunteers will be available in the toy, book, and stuffed animal areas if your family group includes several children.
After completing the event with a family, return to the Host area to be paired with another family. Please complete the family you are currently hosting before leaving for the day. If you have approximately 20 minutes remaining in your shift, ask for a smaller family for your final trip.
Hosting as a group: Families or groups may host together. PLEASE SIGN UP ONLY ONCE FOR YOUR ENTIRE GROUP if your group will host together and can escort only one recipient family at a time. Each signup represents one Host/team, not one individual volunteer. Children must be at least 8 years old to participate, with no more than two children per adult. Volunteers ages 17 and older may host independently.
Please note: Shift times overlap and end times are approximate. If signing up for more than one shift, select a second shift that begins after your first shift ends. The last shifts are in case we still have folks waiting in line. If there is no one in line at 3pm, you may leave when you are done escorting your last family.
First-time hosts will receive additional instructions before the event.
