Volunteers are needed for 3-hour shifts before and during the Oyster Festival. Volunteer duties on the day of the festival include:
Admissions: Checking in pre-paid attendees; accepting cash and credit card payments; making change; stamping hands
Food and Drink Cashiers: Taking orders down on a pre-printed order form; accepting cash and credit card payments
Bartenders: Serving wine, beer, and mixed drinks; following a recipe to make easy mixed drinks; acting as cashier if needed; taking orders on a pre-printed order form as needed
Roamer: Moving around the property attending to any issues that arise (as directed by staff); acting as a gopher for vendors who may need restocking or need a staff member
Children's Crafts: Attending to the craft areas; making sure kids and adults understand directions and assist in craft if needed
Face Painting in Children’s Area
Membership Table: Talking to attendees about museum membership; accept credit card and check payments from new and renewing members
Museum Attendant: Roving around the museum answering any questions from attendees; directing attendees stay in public spaces only; ensuring bathrooms stay stocked; assisting in light first aid
Parking Attendant: Directing cars into and out of parking lots; communicating with attendees about parking policies; communicating with shuttle drivers as needed
Raffle Table: Selling raffle tickets; accepting cash payments
Trash/Recycling Attendant: Removing full trash bags and recycling bins to designated area; restocking with new bags/bins; helping to keep areas clean
