2026 NCNPS State Fair Garden Volunteers signup sheet

Volunteers are needed to staff the NCNPS exhibit at the NC State Fair October 15-25, 2026. Our day runs from 9am to 8pm. There are multiple time slots each day. If the time you want to volunteer is taken or if you need a different time, please contact Jackie Trickel at triangle@ncwildflower.org.
Volunteers will receive free admission to the fair. Parking inside the gate again this year is limited. Volunteers working at least 6 hours in a day will have priority. We will be doing presentations again at 11am each day. It will focus on what to plant in place of invasives. A 10am-1pm shift has been added for this presentation. This is in addition to other shifts and we need to discuss the presentation with you before you sign up. Email triangle@ncwildflower.org if interested in presenting one day.

Garden volunteers may:
• Greet visitors in the gardens or booth, promote the importance of native plants and answer questions,
• Help with the native seed give away,
• Facilitate educational hands-on activities such as our Scavenger Hunt, Is it Native or Invasive Challenge, Oak Trees are #1 and others
• Oversee the Venus Fly Trap display and engage kids in a flytrap game, and
• Assist others as needed.
