Role Overview: Competition Exhibitor Drop-Off Support
Competition Exhibitor Drop-Off Support Volunteers provide a warm welcome to the hundreds of exhibitors arriving to enter their projects, exhibits, and entries into the Norfolk County Fair. From Homecraft and Horticulture to Photography, Fine Arts, and more, these volunteers help create a positive first impression by assisting with wayfinding, answering questions, and helping exhibitors navigate the drop-off process with confidence.
Responsibilities:
Welcome competition exhibitors as they arrive at the Fairgrounds with their entries.
Provide directions to the appropriate competition buildings, entry areas, and unloading locations.
Answer general questions about entry procedures, schedules, and Fairgrounds locations.
Assist exhibitors in locating committee members, registration tables, or designated drop-off points.
Help maintain an organized and efficient flow of exhibitors entering and exiting buildings.
Support committee members by directing traffic and helping manage line-ups during busy periods.
Observe the drop-off area for potential safety concerns and communicate issues to Fair staff.
Represent the Norfolk County Fair with a friendly, knowledgeable, and welcoming attitude.
Skills & Qualities:
Friendly, patient, and enjoys helping people.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Comfortable providing directions and answering questions.
Organized and able to remain calm in a busy environment.
Able to work independently while supporting a larger volunteer team.
Comfortable standing, walking, and working outdoors or in exhibit buildings as needed.
Time Commitment:
Shifts are available during Competition Exhibitor Drop-Off Days, primarily October 4-5, 2026, prior to the opening of the Fair.
