Pride 2026 Volunteer Sign Up June 28

Hello and thank you so much for your interest in volunteering with the LEATHER & LGBTQ Cultural District! Our Gear Swap n Shop and outreach booth will be at Leather Alley within Root of Pride on Sunday, June 28th! The event runs from 11 am to 6 pm and we need a number of volunteers to make the day a success.
We are also looking for people to represent the District as part of the Leather Contingent in the Pride Parade, including carrying our banner. Color Guard volunteers and wheel monitors sign up directly with the Leather Contingent at https://volunteersignup.org/7J8RX

Outreach Booth Helper
Warmly greet patrons who come to the booth
Share information about the District (palm cards available at the booth that lists what the District does!)
Encourage folx to become a member and/or join our newsletter as a means to know what is happening in the District
Build positive relationships with community members
Sell bandanas/pins (Cal will provide training)

Gear Swap Helper
Coordinate sales and assist customers with the Gear Swap n Shop
Handles money (training for handling cash provided by Cal. handling charges is good for someone who intends to volunteer on-going with the Gear Team as it requires a software download and training)
Interact with customers - assisting them with selecting and trying on items.

We ask all our Leather Alley volunteers to please report to the Outreach Booth 15 minutes prior to the beginning of your shift to check in and for any additional instructions.
Parade volunteers will receive call times and point person with the Leather Contingent the week prior to Pride.
