“God’s work. Our hands.” Sunday is an opportunity to celebrate who we are as the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America – one church, freed in Christ to serve and love our neighbor. The 2017 date of service is Sept. 24th.
Service activities offer an opportunity for us to explore one of our most basic convictions as Lutherans: that all of life in Jesus Christ – every act of service, in every daily calling, in every corner of life – flows freely from a living, daring confidence in God’s grace.
This year, on Sunday September 24th, 12:30pm-3:30pm, Our Redeemer's will be caring for God's creation in beautiful Carkeek Park. Led by a Carkeek Park Trail Steward we''ll work on a forest restoration and trails maintenance project set up just for Our Redeemer's. The Trail Steward will have a wide variety of tasks we can help with. They provide gloves and water (they encourage us to bring your own bottle of water, to reduce plastic waste). Please wear sturdy shoes. Suitable for teens and older. Follow the signs to our meeting place. Wear your grubbies to church, bring a sack lunch to fortify yourself before we all head to Carkeek Park to use our hands for God's work.
