In partnership with citizen samplers, we test select tributaries of the Hudson for fecal-indicating bacteria and other water quality indicators. These samples are collected from the streambank by Riverkeeper-trained citizens, and processed in our onboard lab. You will be trained by Riverkeeper to become a citizen sampler, given all the tools and knowledge necessary to assist in the campaign to clean up our water. We encourage communities to use this data to restore and protect their local waterways. Note that we need partners for the following tributaries: Esopus Creek (up to Marbletown), the Wallkill River (upper Wallkill, upstream/south of Montgomery), and Catskill Creek.
