The 24th annual Homecoming Golf tournament will be held, rain or shine, Friday October 27th. Registration opens at 10, play begins at 11, and a dinner reception will follow (around 4:30pm). Volunteer shifts are approximately 1.5-3 hours long, and you may sign up for more than one shift. Please email us at harrisonburgchpt@gmail.com with any questions! All activities should be assumed to be outdoors, so please dress appropriately for the weather!
- Registration volunteers will manage player sign-in, sales, cart setup, contest setup, lunch distribution, etc. - basically anything needed to get the tourney started!
- Ballroom setup will involve decorating tables, setting up raffle prizes, hanging sponsor banners, etc. Table linens and dinnerware will be handled by the Club. Time slot is flexible to begin between 11am and 2pm, and should take about 2 hours.
- Beverage cart drivers will ride around the course and offer beverages to players in exchange for drink tickets. A map of the course will be provided to reference as we need drivers to follow a particular route. Drivers may have one passenger/partner (age 21+) with no signup being necessary.
- Hole-in-one witnesses have an easy job chatting with players and observing shots from the tee box for a hole-in-one. A tent for shade and chair(s) will be provided. (Volunteers may want to bring a book, golf clubs, smart phone, etc to fill downtime between teams).
- Event Cleanup is fairly simple and may include collecting signage from the course, gathering tents or chairs, cleaning up banquet decorations, etc.
Meals and/or snacks will be available, should your shift span either lunch or dinner.
