Come join us and volunteer at El Centro de la Raza's biggest event of the year on October 12th, 2019! This event is critical to our fundraising efforts and we could not do it without the support of our amazing volunteers.
CURRENT VOLUNTEER ROLES:
*SET-UP: 9am - 2:30pm
*REGISTRATION/CHECKOUT: 2:30pm – 10:30pm
You will be part of the registration and checkout team. You will welcome guests, register them, pre-register credit cards, enter all auction sales and donations, process payments at checkout and enter data all while at a computer station using our Greater Giving software. Some volunteers will pull bidder packets from the bid boxes and file paperwork. Halfway through the evening, about ten of the volunteers in this group will be moved over to a Live Auction volunteer role (Bid Spotter, Presenter, Recorder, or Runner).
*RAFFLE TICKET SELLER & LIVE AUCTION BID SPOTTER: 2:30pm – 10:30pm
You will memorize a simple script and sell raffle tickets for the first half of the night, then move on to be a Live Auction BID SPOTTER for the second half of the night. As a bid spotter, you will point out bidders to the auctioneer and say thank you to winning bidders in your section during the Live Auction. You will be assigned to a set of tables to monitor for the duration of the Live Auction, including the opening portion of the live auction when tequila shots are auctioned off.
*SILENT AUCTION MONITORS & ITEM PICK UP: 2:30pm – 10:30pm
You will facilitate guest interaction with the silent auction, including overseeing the items, encouraging bidding and conversation, answering questions about items and closing bidding for items purchased at the guaranteed bid price. As each section closes, you will circle the winning bid numbers and take the two top bid sheets to your lead or to checkout. Once dinner starts, you will then sort and group the items by winning bidder and give bidders their items as the visit Item Pickup when they are ready to leave.
