We need your help to make sure our less fortunate friends and neighbors in the Lehigh Valley enjoy this holiday season. EVERY shoebox benefits a child here in the Lehigh Valley. Our hope is that you, your family and friends will consider participating in our program to help us reach our goal! We have pledged 40 shoeboxes for boys & girls ages 9-17+. Please take a moment to look through our wish list below, and sign up to donate an item (or several!) to help us fill the boxes! If there's something you think one of your peers could use that we haven't included, please feel free to get it! You can include the name of the item in your sign up note. Ideally, each box will have one of each of the requested items for that age group (between 15-20 items). The typical shoebox costs between $20-$25.
We are also accepting monetary donations and/or gift cards, to be used to purchase items.
We do not need shoeboxes. The shoeboxes will be prepared after all of the items are received. Your donated items can be dropped off at church anytime until November 22nd (date extrended). There will be a box labeled "HOLIDAY HOPE CHESTS" in the back of church (ask Fr. Buckley where to look if you are unsure).
Please remember:
All items must be able to fit into a shoebox.
No food, drink, candy, gum, or other edible/perishable items.
All items should be new and in the original packaging (splitting multipacks is OK, as long as toiletry items are still in original packaging, for hygeinic purposes).
Other items to avoid: Balloons, Cameras, Glass items, Money, Sharp items (scissors, knives, razors), Toy guns/weapons, Violent or inappropriate books, Movies, CD’s, Jump ropes, yo-yo's.
