In the Gardens garden needs your help with spring tasks--pruning the grapes, planting seeds, setting up the water system, and composting the beds!
In the Gardens homesite is a substantial edible organic permaculture garden. We use this garden to educate, employ the needy, share and celebrate; 80% of the food harvested is donated to the hungry. We have a great deal to do to make sure that our garden profits those in need this year, and we are asking for your participation.
In the Gardens is holding a series Volunteer Days to help nurture our home garden and to bring gardens to greater Chicagoland. This is a great opportunity for family time, for students needing community service hours, or for anyone wanting to learn about growing their own food while contributing to our community.
Come when you can; stay as long as you want.
If you have an idea when during the day you will be coming, please include the time range in the Name field when you sign up for a date.
