Celebrate the new River Access at Valley View Area of Cascade Valley Metro Park and a Centennial Grant of the Akron Garden Club. The River Access is under construction now and features a kayak and canoe put-in, new walking paths, restroom, gathering barn, and space to connect in nature, and is expected to open in the summer. The Akron Garden Club Centennial Grant has provided funding for extensive native plantings around the new facility.
We invite you to volunteer and plant what will become gorgeous swaths of native perennials. Many hands are needed to enhance the habitat for wildlife and human enjoyment. Please join us for one or multiple planting sessions on Tuesday, April 23, Wednesday, April 24, Tuesday, April 30, and Thursday, May 2 (AM and PM shifts available). Select the time(s) and role below that best suits you and sign up below.
Bring work gloves, sun protection, and refillable water bottle. Tools are provided. Restrooms are available on-site. Snacks and drinking water re-fill station provided.
