Please join us at our Woodland Park Players Information Night on Monday, November 7th, in the West Woodland Elementary Library.
Auditions will take place at West Woodland Elementary School, 5601 4th Ave NW, Seattle, WA 98103.
Audition Requirements:
** Please bring a CURRENT PHOTO of yourself (any size or quality, just make sure we can see your FACE; no hats, no sunglasses.)
** To be considered for a LEAD or SUPPORTING ROLE, please prepare a MONOLOGUE (1-2 minutes in length) and one SONG (1 verse, 1 chorus) of your choice. (An accompanist will be provided. Bring sheet music.)
** To be considered for the ENSEMBLE, please prepare a 60 second speaking bit (i.e., tell us a joke or read us part of story or short monologue) and SING a little bit (1 verse, 1 chorus) of song of your choice (Bring sheet music. An accompanist will be provided.) Or it can be as simple as Happy Birthday or Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.
Who Is Eligible to Audition?
FOR ENSEMBLE: To audition for a role in the ensemble (bulk of the cast), you must be a member of the “Woodland Park Community.”
The “Woodland Park Community” is defined as one or more of the following:
1) Current or former staff, parent/guardian or former student (over 16) of West Woodland Elementary School,
2) Live within the WPP defined Geo-Zone, which is the area:
• south of N. 80th St.
• west of Aurora Ave N/SR-99
• north of N. 50th St.
• east of 8th Ave NW
3) Member of WPP’s inaugural cast (2016 Oklahoma!)
In the event that we have more “Woodland Park Community” members audition than
we have parts, final casting decision will be at director’s discretion. In the event you are NOT cast in this year’s production, please know there is a place for you in the Woodland Park Players! We need lots of help behind the scenes---sets, costumes, props, lighting, craft services, ad sales, front of the house, etc. And if you join the crew and audition again next year, you will be considered with higher priority.
FOR LEAD or SUPPORTING ROLE: Auditions for LEAD or SUPPORTING roles are open to anyone.
NOTE: Director will be encouraged to cast a member of the “Woodland Park Community” (as defined above) for LEAD or SUPPORTING roles, but ultimate casting decision is at director’s discretion
