!!! People who want to volunteer to serve at the Fresh From Florida breakfast on Thursday morning will need to sign up on the FSBA sheet AND register for an admission ticket from Florida State Fair Authority. I do not handle tickets to that event!!! I will have tickets for Thursday AM and PM shifts and all of the other days.
The Florida State Beekeepers Association, FSBA, needs your help. The FSBA. has had a booth at the Florida State Fair for many years. The purpose of the booth is to educate the public about beekeeping, the beekeeping industry in Florida, and to promote and sale Florida honey. This is a major fundraiser for FSBA projects. Our booth is inside the Agricultural Hall of Fame building, which is near the Gate 3 entrance at the fairgrounds.
The FSBA booth at the Florida State Fair will have honey tasting, a live honeybee observation hive, educational material for the public and we will be answering questions about honey bees for the public. We will be selling bottled Florida honey.
The 2026 Florida State Fair is daily and runs from Thursday, February 5th through Monday, February 16th. The Fair is held at the Florida State Fairgrounds in Tampa, Florida. Volunteers will receive a free entry ticket for the day that they volunteer. After or before your “shift” you can explore the fair! Parking at the fairground is free. The fair is twelve days long so we need LOTS of volunteers.
Volunteers are asked to sign up for a morning or afternoon shift, which are about four hours long. We would like 3-4 people in the booth each shift and there will be someone in the booth to explain what to do. People may sign up for one or multiple shifts. Feel free to sign up with friends or with other Bee Club members to add to the fun. The start and end times for each shift are listed on the sign up sheet.
You don't have to be a Florida State Beekeepers Association member to volunteer and you don't have to be a long-time beekeeper to help out.
The booth can be busy (busy as a bee, LOL) and a lot of fun. So, please, join us at the Fair.
