Thank you for your interest in volunteering the Century of Progress Tour on September 28, 2019! The tour will bring over 600 guests through these five historic houses located at the Indiana Dunes National Park. The tour route has stairs and some of the opportunities require extensive walking and standing. Some opportunities may be completed sitting or stationary. Please read the descriptions below.
As a thank you for your volunteer service you will receive a free tour of the houses on Friday afternoon, September 27th, as part of the volunteer training held that day. If you can not attend the training on Friday afternoon, then a call-in training will be arranged and a tour ticket will be provided to you for Saturday. Background material will also be provided to you to read prior to the training. We ask that volunteers are already or consider joining as members of Indiana Landmarks. You can join at www.indianalandmarks.org.
You may sign up for a morning or afternoon shift or consider helping out all day at the same or different place. Boxed lunches will be provided for those working a double shift, with snacks and water available for all volunteers. Tours will be led by National Park Service Rangers.
