Volunteers will work directly with Parks and Recreation staff assisting with the inventory work related to hangers and hazards that still exist in our Urban Forest after the storm. Each shift will be 4 hours (8am-12pm or 12pm-4pm). Volunteers will need a smart phone for this work and training will be provided on how to install and use the Field Maps App. The work will involve plenty of walking as we survey each neighborhood so please wear comfortable but appropriate footwear, bring water, sun protection and food/snacks. A volunteer service agreement and PPE will be provided at the beginning of your shift. Volunteers will meet at the main Parks and Recreation building (100 Hickory St.) at the beginning of your shift. This is a very important step in our efforts to relieve the City of Missoula's financial burden related to the storm and have accurate reporting for FEMA.
