PSO is looking for volunteers!! YAY! We have a new volunteer opportunity!

Maker Mondays - On the first of every month join Ms. Co in the library starting this coming Monday, December 5 for her first monthly Maker Monday event. She hands out passes for up to 20 students to attend the event at lunch in library to complete a special craft project. Ms. Co welcomes lots of adult HELP with the students as they work on their projects. Each Monday will be planned with a craft so, all you need to do is show up and help students crate!

Volunteers can sign up for one, two or all three lunch shifts. Volunteers can expect to hand out craft materials, offer craft advice and assistance to students, work a hot glue gun and help reset the space between sessions. This is an engaging yet easygoing environment and both the kids and volunteers have a lot of fun. If you can’t join us this coming Monday, please watch this space for updates on the other Maker Monday sessions throughout the school year.

students will have the opportunity to make any or all of the following: lapel pin, refrigerator magnet, ornament and backpack charm.

STUDENT STORE: Volunteer can expect to manage students at the student store line as they hand in their HH5 for treats. Students can trade in HAWK HIGH 5's for items at the student store on Fridays. There is candy, pencils, water bottle stickers and more. While our leadership class will help with 2nd and 3rd lunch we need a parent to help with 6th grade lunch but, if any parents want to stay for 2nd or 3rd lunch and help that's wonderful!

DONATIONS for student store: We are taking donations for the student store! Anything really... Food items: pre bagged is best as we do not have microwaves yet to heat items up. FUN FRIDAY GAMES: Assist Renee our Fun Friday leader! Help students at lunch time check out/in board games in the library. Renee Schaefer will do more explaining in person to get you started. There are 3 lunch times you can sign up for or all of them on one day. Renee has many board games for students to choose from. Passes are handed out at lunch in the commons or from Ms. Co in the Library.

PSO will host another movie night after the Holiday Break.

FUND RUN.- We need lots of volunteers for our Fund RUN. It will take place in the spring! It's our only FUNDRAISER we do for the year other than our Restaurant nights, and we are working on setting up a bottle drop account. The Fund RUN will take a lot of help so we need all hands on deck. It is similar to the Jog A thon but, students sell tickets as the fundraiser part and there will be a drawing for a prize. We have prizes at booths as they run from the school over to Jurgens Park and back. We need parents to cheer them on, work a booth, check in/out, help put together ticket packets. We do not have the date set yet. We are looking for a large team of parents to help start the organizing with our PSO board.
