The Shamley Green Swift Project’s goal is to help support our breeding swift population by increasing the number and density of swift nesting boxes in Shamley Green. The initial goal is for 20 households to commit to having 1, but ideally 2, nest boxes as swifts are gregarious. Box installation in Autumn 2022 is the goal triggered by expressions of interest from 20 households. Shamley Green School Primary School has committed to a bank of boxes and a learning programme for the children, other village schools and businesses will also be approached.
