Below are the volunteer roles that have been established for the Ride with D45 event. Contact Bianca Diaz at bidiaz@d45.org with any questions about volunteering for this event.

Set-Up
You will be helping with the set up for the event. This includes setting up the parking lot with tables and chairs, assisting event coordinators with set up tasks, and other assignments as requested.

Check-in
You will be responsible for checking in participants and ensuring they have pre-registration complete. If walk-ins arrive, you are responsible for giving participants a paper registration form and paper waiver to be completed.

Bike Safety Checks
You will be responsible for performing a ride-check for a concerned rider or parent. This includes the following: check the air in the tires, check the bike chain and breaks. If a major issue is discovered, you are responsible for redirecting participant to Tom Sawchuck.

Bike Registration Help
You will be responsible for assisting the Community Service Officer in registering bikes for Ride with D45 participants. You will be stationed with a CSO and will be utilizing a laptop to complete bike registration.

Course Marshals (must be member of the Elmhurst Bicycle Club, Friends of Cycling in Elk Grove, or other bike club)
You will be responsible for biking along the route to assist participants as needed. Marshals will be spaced amongst the group or participants. Please wear a safety vest or other clothing that identifies you as a course marshal.

CERT/Traffic Control Volunteers
You will be stationed at street crossings. You are expected to remain at your assigned location until every participant has completed their route. Ideally, this role will be filled by CERT members or Villa Park Police Explorers Post members.

Clean Up
You will be helping with the clean up effort after the event has concluded. This includes picking up trash, folding tables and chairs, putting items away, and cleaning up the gymnasium and parking lot. Other tasks relating to cleaning and improving the event location may be assigned.
