The Mono Nordic Ski Club and The Town of Mono are proud to host Family Day on Monday February 17, 2025
* We are hoping experienced members will step up to be Captains and mentor members who are to new to Volunteering.
* NEW TO VOLUNTEERING ....Find a task that interests you and Click on the green arrow on the right and you will be taken to a sign up sheet. The task is described at the top left corner of the page.
Remember, to QUALIFY FOR A REDUCED VOLUNTEER MEMBERSHIP IN 2025-2026, you must volunteer during the 2024-2025 season for a total of 4 hours per individual member or 8 hours per member family. If there are no remaining time slots, consider volunteering at the pavilion one Saturday or Sunday in February or trail work in the fall.
*This is a well planned event that is looking for several individuals to work with several Board Members to Organize and co-ordinate this event.
*Volunteers, on Monday Feb. 19, please park in the lower parking lot.
*Assortment of tasks listed below.
*Event Organizers: Organizers Duties: Act as liaison with Volunteers. Contact and converse with Town liaison. Secure Waiver documents from the board. Confirm set up completed the day before. Confirm/arrange for coffee and tea supplies. Confirm with Martin Family and Town of Mono contact person for Cider hut supplies, i.e. cider, hot dogs, buns, condiments. 2 Donation boxes, one for registration table, second for Cider Pit. Determine signage for the event. Check with Ski Services for signage currently available.
*Signage for the Event: Organizers will provide a list of required Signs.
*Document the Set up of the Event on Sunday Feb. 18, take photos, note & record set up, create brief document
*Document the Day of the Event, Monday Feb 19: take photos, note & record set up, create brief document.
*Coffee & Tea set up for Volunteers
*Greeters Duties: Welcome guests and members at the entrance to the upstairs hall. Hand out a double ticket for each set of rental equipment needed. Direct individuals to the appropriate sign-in table. (Members in the entrance lobby and guests in the banquet room.)
*Volunteer and Member Sign-in: Secure Volunteers signature, inform Members of other Club Volunteer Opportunities.
*Guest sign-in: Duties: Have guests sign in on the Family Ski Day form, mention rentals downstairs, lounge upstairs, and food/drink at the fire pit.
*Boot rentals: Duties: Distribute ski boots, mention lesson opportunity and remind guests to return rental equipment within 2 hours
*Ski & Pole rentals: Duties: Record ticket number, distribute skis and poles, mention lesson opportunity, & remind guests to return rental equipment within 2 hours
*Cider Pit: Duties: Help make and serve hot apple cider, marshmallows & BBQ hot dogs. Donations welcomed.
*Basic Skill Lesson: Duties: demonstrate basic skills/technique to a group of beginners. Demonstrations offered hourly on the 1/2 hour.
*Tour Guides: All members are asked to be a host when skiing and assist guests with trail choices.
