11/5/23 Street Hockey with the Washington Capitals at Dewey Park in Silver Spring signup sheet
Kids and teens ages 7-18 and invited to Try Out Street Hockey with Unmatched Athlete in partnership with the Washington Capitals, on Sunday, November 5th from 12pm-3pm at Dewey Park in Silver Spring.
This program is designed to be a safe space for LGBTQ+ folks to feel comfortable expressing their true selves amongst their peers and our LGBTQ+ staff. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. The event is FREE; and ALL families and allies 5 & up are welcome to attend!
We are seeking volunteers to help with tabling and assisting us with running the activities throughout the event.
Volunteer Responsibilities
Key responsibilities for volunteers interested in tabling will be to assist with checking people in and handing out wristbands. Other duties may include collecting donations, selling merchandise, and taking photos.
Volunteers interested in helping to play hockey will work with staff from the Capitals and DMV Women's Hockey to work with youth. Instructions of how each of the activities will be run will be provided at the event. The most important skill required for this task is to have fun with everyone participating in the activities :-)
