Vermont Overland (bike) 2024 – Volunteer Tasks signup sheet

It takes a village. We could not put on The Overland without YOU, our beloved volunteers! This form has all the volunteer tasks needed for the week of August 22nd - 25th. Each task will have a description, date/time, and location attached to it. As you go through the form, please only sign up for the tasks that you know you can commit to!

Every volunteer will get and be asked to wear one of our now famous orange Vermont Overland STAFF hats! Before arriving to your designated task, first check in at the Ascutney Outdoor Center to receive your hat and meal and drink tickets for the weekend.

If you can't make it for the full amount of hours that the task has described, that's totally fine! Just coordinate with your task leader to see what you can do. After signing up for a task, we'll be in touch with you by email directly to coordinate the specific details.

This will including helping them unload stuff, set up tents, etc. This is a big time window, so folks can come and go to help as they please!

Rider Pre-Registration at Ascutney Outdoors – Task Leader: Devon Sandall - We'll need folks to help check-in riders, hand out and assign race bib numbers, and give riders their Vermont Overland hats! Support Shuttle from Aid Station #1 to Ascutney – Task Leader: Jesse Ware. We need one willing person to be stationed at Aid Station #1 (West Windsor Food Shelf) with a van, truck, or other larger vehicle, willing to shuttle riders back to Ascutney who are injured or otherwise can't finish or ride back!

Aid Station #1 at the Reading Food Shelf – Task Leader: Ben Bardwell – at The West Windsor Food Shelf – We'll need some extra hands to set up our first Aid Station on course! After it's set up, the goal is to hand out food, fill water bottles, and cheer riders on!

Finish Line Support at Ascutney Outdoors – Task Leader: Ben Bardwell – We need some folks to help us hand out beverages and shepherd riders safely across the finish line and outside of the vendor expo (we don't want bikes piling up around the finish line). We'll have Athletic Brewing and Topo Chico along with other snacks to hand out to folks that cross the line – this is a fun task and requires high-energy and a big smiles!
