Come join us in restoring another stretch of the east Lagoon on the NIU campus! With the help of dedicated students and ENCAP, an additional ~150 feet of shoreline are being restored this spring. Restoration will help protect against erosion and flooding in addition to reintroducing native plants to the area. We request that all volunteers meet at the sculpture near the center of the courtyard (between Davis Hall and the lagoon). Once we are all there, we will walk to the project location together. If you would like to participate in planting in the actual water, please bring your own waders or shoes that you do not mind getting soaked and mucky. For more information, Killian Becker (z71752404@students.niu.edu).
If spots for your desired volunteer position fill and you are not interested in other tasks, please reach out to Alyssa Edwards (z1953536@students.niu.edu).
Let's get planting!
