On behalf of Bloomington Pridefest; We are THRILLED to invite you to Pridefest 2023 on Saturday, July 29th in downtown Bloomington!
First, thank you for your interest in volunteering! Our volunteer positions are the cornerstone of the Pridefest block party; we're unable to ensure a safe environment for all without your help.
The following volunteer positions are still available for 7/29/23:
Corner Patrol: A critical volunteer position at Pridefest - we can't hold the block party without you!
Corner Patrol consists of monitoring for and stopping open beverages entering or leaving the block party. All you have to do is ask that the person with the beverage stops, if they don't you can call one of our staff to assist. We need one person per hour on each of our 8 corners. You may signup multiple people for one slot if you're not comfortable alone.
Crowd Safety Patrol : You will help us to maintain a safe space for all in our community within the 8 corners of our 'fest.
You will walk the 'fest and watch for general issues of crowd safety. In this role we ask that you use best judgement and call your staff liaison or BPD non-emergency line if you witness a need for intervention. Of course, 911 for emergencies. You are not expected to risk your own safety in any of our volunteer roles role; monitor and call.
Trash Patrol: You guessed it...if it's on the ground and it shouldn't be, this group tosses it in the nearest bin. This crew will also pull full bags and replace as-needed.
Set Up: will assist with placing tables, chairs, barricades, and stage setup, etc before Pridefest. You may be asked to assist with directing vendors entering the 'fest The City will block our streets by 12pm.
Tear Down & Clean Up: This work goes by fast and we've always ended the shift early: Help with clean up after the block party and break down tables/barricades, deconstruct stage and pickup garbage. We must have the streets cleared by 11pm.
Thank you again for looking over our openings! Please share our link with your friends!
Happy Pride,
