Bench Construction and Painting - TUE July 21st (9AM-12PM) signup sheet
Help Friends of Shelby as we improve accessibility around the park with new benches on Tuesday, July 21st from 9AM-12PM! Led by staff and Friends of Shelby's summer intern, we hope to foster creativity and community with this fun, all-ages event. This is a great opportunity for students on summer break to join us and make your neighborhood better one bench at a time!
We'll plan to meet at East Nashville Athletics, which can be found on Google Maps here: https://maps.app.goo.gl/WuowDJNt68Sd8vNA6. Please park at the red playground across the street. There are restrooms located on site.
We will be using drills to assemble pre-cut pieces, and then painting the benches with brushes and stencils. Be sure to wear clothing that you don't mind getting paint on that you will be cool working outside in. We will provide you with all of the necessary tools, gloves, and paint, as well as water and sunscreen.
