Thank you for volunteering to make a difference for our young scientists! Some brief job descriptions are below. Note that some jobs require volunteers to have a current, approved volunteer packet and background check on file with the school district in advance. Visit https://www.k12northstar.org/departments/human-resources/career-job-opportunities and select 'Volunteer' to access a fillable application.
*Hospitality: Donate drinks and snacks for all volunteers
*Early Registration: Help students register for Science Fair, enter registration data into computer form
*Set-up: Help Set up tables and posters
*Judges: Evaluate student posters, interview students, and provide positive, constructive feedback for students
*Runners: Escort students to and from class for judge interview, write certificates, hang ribbons
*Family Night: Answer questions about science fair, help watch posters as families come to view them, hand out district fair paperwork for eligible projects
*Kid's Choice: Supervise students when classes come into view posters and vote for their favorites; teachers will be present
*Clean-up: Help clean up gym Thursday evening when the fair is done. Very important!
*Interior Alaska Science Fair Parent Chaperone: accompany students to the district science fair on Thursday, March 20.
