Here are opportunities to practice being a pilot of the Cycling Without Age trishaws for 2024. We will get together on occasion to practice (starting from Munroe Falls Metro Park bathhouse) as well as provide these adaptive bike rides to passengers at various events. More events and practices might be added throughout the cycling season. We are working on purchasing a third trishaw this year. This year we will also host groups with 10-15 folks with limited mobility for daytime facilitated visits (naturalist will guide them in a game while they take turns with rides).
Reminders: You can bring your own bike to escort the trishaws or parade(s). You must bring and wear you own helmet anytime riding your bike or trishaw as a SMP volunteer.
If any questions or concerns about the program (or to be taken off the pilot list), please contact SMP Manager of Volunteer Programs Lisa Meranti at volunteer@summitmetroparks.org.
SPECIAL NOTE: When signing up, please only sign up initially for a couple of pilot shifts before March 1 (to allow for everyone to have the opportunity). After that you may fill in any remaining spots. I will then see where gaps are so that I can recruit additional volunteers if needed starting in April. If you are not an early planner, please don't let this timeline discourage you instead, let me know your intentions.
