THANK YOU for volunteering! Carrollton/Carroll County Empty Bowls is a long-standing and successful tradition. In fact, this is the 21st year Empty Bowls has been active in our community
Date: Sunday, February 23, 2025, 11:00 AM - 2:30 PM
Location: Carroll County Agriculture-Education Center, 900 Newnan Road, Carrollton
This year Empty Bowls will again be an in-person event, and we are so excited to be able to do this again. We will provide hand sanitizer, and please take any precautions you feel are needed to keep yourselves and others healthy.
We are using the same online registration system that we have used successfully in past years, and we hope it will continue to be an easy process for you to sign up for a position. Please let us know if you have any problems or questions. There are two shifts (usually 10:30 - 12:30 and 12:30 - 2:30) for most positions so our volunteers will be able to enjoy the event as well as work a shift. The early shift may help with last minute set up, and the later shift may assist with clean up.
In addition to asking for volunteers on Sunday, we also need help on Saturday, February 22 at 2:00 PM setting up the venue, picking up soup that has been donated by restaurants and individuals and delivering it to the Carroll County Ag Center.
PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING BEFORE REGISTERING. THANK YOU.
***SET UP of venue (Carroll County Ag Center, 900 Newnan Road, Carrollton, GA) is Saturday afternoon, February 22, 2025, 2:00 PM.
One component of Saturday's Set Up is picking up soup from our donors at an agreed upon time and taking it to the Ag Center, which will be open for a few hours beginning at 2:00 PM. This also may require returning the empty pots to the donor at an agreed upon time if they did not provide disposable ones.
***OUR EMPTY BOWLS EVENT is Sunday, February 23, 2025, from 11:00 - 2:30. EMPTY BOWLS CLEAN UP is the same day from 2:30 until finished.
***This year our volunteers will enter the building through the rear entrance (as we did last year) in order to minimize congestion in the front. Look for signs.
Volunteers 14 - 17 years of age who will not be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian must have their parent or legal guardian sign a Consent Form and Liability Waiver which will be emailed to the parent ahead of time. Forms will also be available at the Ag Center. When signing up your child of 14 - 18 years, please put their age in parenthesis after their last name. Example: Smith (15).
Individuals 13 or younger are welcome to volunteer as long as they are accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
"I WILL DO ANYTHING; PUT ME WHERE I AM NEEDED" choice. First shift is usually 10-12 or 10:30 -12:30. Second shift is usually 12-2 or 12:30-2:30.
If your first choice of a volunteer position is already full, please register for another. OR sign up in the "I will do anything; put me where I am needed" slots. It sometimes happens that people volunteer for a position and then find that they are unable to work. In that instance positions open up, and those positions will be filled from the "I will do anything" registrants. It is sometimes possible to be put to work at the event if a volunteer has a last-minute conflict and is unable to be present.
If you are a member of a group that has multiple members who would like to register, please have all register individually. A group leader may contact me directly at ebcgavolunteers@gmail.com to discuss any special considerations the organization may have.
If you have questions, please contact me at ebcgavolunteers@gmail.com. Thank you!
