Role Descriptions!
Supplies & Logistics - Throughout the week, help shop for materials, manage inventory, and make sure we’re stocked with essentials for meal shares. Ideal for folks who like behind the scenes work.

Casa de Peregrinos Pick-Up - Pick up food from the pantry on the Friday before our distribution day. Time slots are 9:00–11:00am or 1:00–3:00pm. You’ll load groceries into your vehicle and bring them to El Calvario (316 N. Campo St). A vehicle is helpful for this role, and you’ll be given instructions on what to pick up and where to deliver it. [Individuals can only pick-up from CdP once every 30 days]

Street Team - Walk, bike, or drive around the neighborhood surrounding Klein Park to pass out flyers about Food Not Bombs. You’ll place flyers on doors and, if you feel comfortable, you’re encouraged to knock and talk with neighbors about our mission of sharing free food and building community. This is a great role for folks who enjoy talking with people, spreading the word, and getting in some steps.

Food Prep & Cooking - Help chop, cook, and prepare meals before distro. Tasks include cooking, cleaning, packing, and making sure meals are safe and ready for sharing. No experience needed!

Baking - Bake delicious goodies, bread, and whatever your heart desires for the community! Bakers will coordinate with each other to decide a time that works best to get together. Bakers are also welcome to bake on their own time and bring goods to the distribution with clearly labeled ingredients.

Distribution Set-Up - Help set up tables and supplies at Klein Park, pick up food from the kitchen, arrange the food and supplies on the tables, and ensure everything is ready to run smoothly for the distribution.

Food Transport - Transport the cooked food from El Calvario to Young Park. A vehicle is necessary for this role!

Distribution Table Crew - Serve food, engage with folks, and share literature and resources. Great for people who like talking with others and building community.

Delivery Team #1 - Help bring meals directly to families and unhoused neighbors in Las Cruces. This role is vital for making sure food reaches folks who aren’t able to make it to distro. Delivery Team #1 will meet at El Calvario prior to distribution to begin packaging meals for the first round of deliveries.

Delivery Team #2 - Delivery team #2 will meet at Klein Park at the end of distribution to package the leftover meals and deliver them to Camp Hope.

Distribution Break-Down - Arrive at the end of the meal share to take down tables, clean up the park, load items back onto the trailer to be taken to storage, and drop off dirty dishes at the kitchen.

Kitchen Clean-Up - The kitchen clean-up crew makes sure all of our serving dishes get washed and the kitchen is cleaned after distro. After distro ends, the break-down crew will bring the dishes to the church. This role is essential for closing out the day and keeping our kitchen ready for the next meal.
