Lord Nelson Elementary, in partnership with the City of Vancouver and the Vancouver School Board, is piloting a School Street program from Monday, May 8, 2023 to Friday, June 2, 2023. During School Street times, no motor vehicles will be permitted to enter or exit the block, however, parked vehicles may remain.
The School Street will be in effect from:
Date: May 8, 2023 to June 2, 2023 (4 weeks), all school days
Location: Kitchener Street between Garden Drive and Templeton Drive
Time: 8:40 - 9:10 AM and 2:50 - 3:20 PM
Extended Hours: Please note that School Street pick-up time hours will be extended on Fridays by 30 minutes (2:50 - 3:50 PM) to facilitate additional activities on site.
Thank you for volunteering and supporting this initiative to improve safety and encourage active travel at our school! As an incentive, for every shift you attend, your child’s class will be entered into a draw to win a Popsicle Party. The more you volunteer, the more chances to win! (Note that a new winner will be drawn weekly and each volunteer will only be able to win once.)
We will be working with teachers to ensure that, if you are volunteering, your child can be released to you at your post.
