Play on a Plane - September 14 signup sheet
Our Play on a Plane event is our biggest children/family event. We will have almost of the planes on the ramp open, along with STEM activities throughout the museum and ramp area. Volunteers will be needed on the ramp to monitor airplanes, and also indoors to help in the children's area and exhibits. All positions will report to the Business Director.
Ramp Helper - Monitor the planes, help with crowd control around the planes, assist volunteers and staff on the ramp
Plane Assistant - Assistant the Kansas Aviation Museum (KAM) volunteers who are assigned to each of the planes that are open. No experience or knowledge needed, Kansas Aviation Museum volunteers will be there to provide information on planes, but guest volunteers will assist with helping people and managing the line. This is a great opportunity to learn more about the planes that we have!
Indoor Exhibit Helper - Monitor the exhibits, make sure that no one is climbing on antique aircraft, make sure guest needs are met and exhibits are in good order, assist staff and KAM volunteers as needed. KAM volunteers will be located in these spaces to provide information to guests as needed.
Indoor Children's Area helper - Monitor the children's area, periodically clean-up toys ensuring a safe play space for all guests, and assist staff as needed.
Floating Volunteers - Will move around the museum delivering water to volunteers and covering bathrooms breaks if anyone needs them.
Post-Event Clean-Up Volunteers - will assist with cleaning up after the event is over, including picking up trash from the ramp outdoors, checking indoor exhibits and assisting with hauling trash to dumpsters.
