Any shift labeled (21+) must be filled by volunteers 21 years of age or older. Please include your date of birth after your last name in parenthesis (Example: Smith (10/24/1986)).

Role: Site Set Up Crew
Description: The core crew that ignites the event - this requires unskilled labor. Set up details include lifting heavier things, artistically stacking wood, tent set up, LED light placement, helping move stage pieces, & decoration of each tent with art installation. You will be on your feet for the duration of shift so please wear comfy shoes and warm clothes and/or rain gear.

Role: Ticketing Torchbearers
Description: If you like to offer people information, enjoy meeting lots of new faces, and have a knack for problem solving, join the ticketing tent at the main gate! Ticketing volunteers will be checking and selling tickets to attendees as well as welcoming the crowd. You will need to feel comfortable operating a POS & will need to download the app for our ticketing system on your phone and bring it with you, fully charged, to the festival. We will provide wifi. Please wear warm clothes and/or rain gear and come be the faces of Fire & Story!

Role: ID Verifier (21+)
Description: Fire & Story is hosting a 21+ Fable Lounge until 11pm each night of the festival! This role welcomes all 21+ attendees into this vibrant zone. The role is straightforward, make sure people entering are at least 21 years of age - verified by checking their valid drivers licence or passport, confirming DOB and expiration date. Verify they have a single-night or 3-night festival wristband. You will be placing a 21+ wristband on each person's arm upon valid ID verification. This role may require the use of a ticket purchasing system after 9:00pm. This will be a lively experience, with a great view of the festival site!

Role: Merchandise Sales & Info Keeper
Manage sales at our Merchandise & Info Tent located near the main entrance. You’ll sell prints and merchandise from muralists, promote Noisy Waters gear, and help check in participants for our daily spray paint workshops in this dynamic role. Volunteers will use a simple point-of-sale (POS) system, keep the booth organized, and answer attendee questions (you’ll have a festival map to help).

Role: Aloha Care / TZW (Towards Zero Waste)
Think of this as festival hospitality meets sustainability! Aloha Care volunteers keep water stations filled & manage trash, compost, and recycling onsite. You are vital to our goal of a low-waste, well-cared-for event. You get to peruse the whole event site and tend to the key infrastructure looking spotless and functioning well.

Role: Firefly
Description: Fire & Story Fireflies are dressed to guide attendees to the light with their lit up wings, festival information, and ability to cool the crowd when necessary. This role is stationed at either the Wonder Dome (new kids stage) or the Story Stage to ensure attendees are being respectful, are well attended to, and are keeping quiet enough for the performers to have center-stage (you will have a very polite “shhhh” sign to use as needed). You also may be required to transfer information (like a runner) or fill other roles as needed. If you enjoy caretaking, wandering around and meeting folks, looking fancy, this is a great opportunity!

Role: Event Take Down/Strike
Description: These volunteers help shut down the festival on Sunday. Producing an event of this scale takes a LOT of work, and closing the event down is an essential part of us continuing to do this work. Volunteers offer unskilled labor, assisting with tasks such as breaking down infrastructure, loading trucks, and packing up materials in an organized and safe way. We aim to leave the site better than we found it. You will be on your feet for the duration of the shift so please wear comfy shoes and warm clothes and/or rain gear. Sauna time will be offered to Strike volunteers - so sign up today to close out the weekend with teamwork and celebration!
