This signup sheet is not accepting new volunteers.
Please contact the event coordinator for further details.

Be a part of restoring shorelines around Cedar Key! Living shorelines use natural elements such as marsh grasses and oysters to reduce or reverse coastal erosion. We are in need of volunteers to help with different tasks including oyster reef construction, marsh planting and harvesting, and building oyster reef restoration units. We have several dates and times available – check our Facebook and this page often for updates. To participate, you must REGISTER on this signup sheet.

What to expect: Please meet at the Nature Coast Biological Station for all events. Each event will last roughly four hours. Volunteers will be participating in a range of restoration tasks, but all of them involve the potential to get muddy or dirty, so come prepared! Some of the days may also require a little bit of heavy lifting and walking on muddy and uneven terrain. Any youth volunteers must be accompanied by an adult.

What to bring/wear: Volunteers must wear closed-toed shoes. We recommend that you bring a hat, sunscreen, bug spray, work gloves, water bottle, and snacks. Please wear shoes and clothes that can get dirty and you may wish to bring a change of clothes for your comfort.

Note: Activities are tentative and subject to change due to weather, tides, and material availability.

Come be a part of living shorelines!
