ICC for FLSP Jam! Saturday, Sept 20, 2025 signup sheet
This year, all First Landing State Park volunteers and Friends are invited to come together in this annual effort to collect litter on our beaches and create data to use to help us all #Sea the Change! The Ocean Conservancy partners with organizations around the globe to bring awareness, prompt action, and elicit advocacy for cleaner oceans.
Our event is for all ages and is a special event tailored for our First Landing and Friends of First Landing Volunteers!
Socializing with other volunteers will happen- this is your summertime get-together with the TEAM!
Snacks/food will happen, too- details to come!
"Plastic pollution is a massive problem for our ocean, but even small actions can make a big difference. Every bottle, every straw, every piece of trash you clean up can lead to a cleaner, healthier ocean. Join us this season to clean up First Landing State Park's Bay Beach. When we clean up our home, all those that live in the ocean can #SeaTheChange!"
I'll provide instructions for the data collection as well as all needed supplies.
If the weather is heavy rain, we will cancel and reschedule, but a light drizzle won't deter us!
Details:
Saturday, Sep 20 at the Main Visitor Center on the Bay/Campground side of the Park (2500 Shore Drive), 9-noon.
NOTE: To reduce use of fossil fuel products, I encourage you to bring your own "recycled" bags (cereal bags, pet food bags, frozen food, etc) or buckets (cat litter, construction, even sand pails can carry litter items!).
