The Lexington Human Rights Committee is proudly hosting the 2026 Community Conversation on Race: From desegregation to integration.
This is a large event and needs a high level of community volunteer support to create a smooth and inviting conversation space. Thank you for giving your time to make this event a success.
Descriptions for the Volunteer Roles:
1) Student (8th-12th Grade): Conversation Support - We are asking for your help with providing a youth perspective to the conversation.
2) Student (9-12th Grade): Check in/Registration & Ushering - This is a critical role in keeping the event running smoothly and efficiently. Checking in or registering attendees, give identifying bracelets with information for where their group is seated for the community conversation and helping people find their seats.
3) Student (9th-12th Grade): Photographer to document the day's event.
4) Adult : Lead Conversation Support - this person will help keep the small group conversation mindful of civil discourse guidelines, assign themself or another to take notes on important ideas/lessons learned.
5) Adult: Check-in/Registration Manager - The check-in/registration process is time consuming because attendees will be assigned a conversation group based on their registration information. Managers will provide support to the student helpers.
