Event Description:
A day of Magic and Enchantment- The Gardens on Spring Creek is delightfully transformed into the Halloween Enchanted Garden for just a single day of the year!
Saturday, October 31, 10 am - 2 pm
Planned especially for children ages 2 - 8 years
$5 per child
Purchase your tickets online or at the door
Take part in a day of amusement for your children. Wear a costume and be ready for some magical (never frightening!) fun. The activities are geared towards children ages 2-8 yrs.
Activities:
Visit with the legendary Talking Pumpkin
Listen to a Halloween story - or two - with the Reading Retrievers
Visit with our Halloween magician - always fun, never spooky!
Play Halloween games
Create seasonal crafts
Mad Scientist Experiment Zone
Pumpkin & Pirate Bowling
Healthy lunch options offered by Seasonal Soups Salads & More

Volunteer Roles
PLEASE NOTE: AM shift volunteers will help with setup and PM shift volunteers will help with take down/clean up. Costumes (not scary) are encouraged!
Crafts- Spooky Woods- Man a craft station to help kids make "Spooky Woods" out of black construction paper, twigs, googly eyes, and fake spider webs. Responsibilities include: keeping station tidy, explaining craft to children, assisting younger children with the craft
Fishing for Prizes- Hide behind the waves and hook prizes to a fishing pole when kids throw it
Floaters- Fill in as needed, check on volunteers, vendors, and presenters
Check-in/Registration - Collect cash for tickets and orient visitors to activities, hang out bags to kids
Mad Scientists- Hang out in the kitchen and help kids perform Mad Science Experiments, and get messy in the process! The experiments are educational and fun!
Talking Pumpkin- Hold a microphone, hide behind the junipers in the Secret Garden (section of Children's Garden), and tell knock-knock jokes and be funny! We will provide you with a list of jokes and the Talking Pumpkin assistants will prompt you
Talking Pumpkin Assistants- Prompt the Talking Pumpkin (see description above) and tell it what the kids are dressed as, when a kid has arrived, etc while being discreet that it is actually a person. May relieve Talking Pumpkin volunteer if they need a short break.
Yard Games- Hang out in our field at the yard games station to help kids with pumpkin bowling, witch hat ring toss, giant kerplunk, and more! Responsibilities include: keeping station tidy, explaining games to children, assisting younger children with the games, lifting small pumpkins
Reading Retrievers - Assist the Reading Retrievers with story time and other activities.
