We’re looking for helping hands to keep our hot lunch program running smoothly! If you’re available, please consider signing up for one or more of the opportunities below.

🧑‍🍳 Food Safety

Lead volunteers should have a valid Food Safety Handling Certificate.
All lunch volunteers who will be helping with food preparation in the kitchen are strongly encouraged to complete the Alberta Health Services Food Safety course online before volunteering.

🌭 Hot Dog Days

Lead volunteers: Those who have done it before

Arrive at school by 9:30 am
Cook, wrap, and sort hot dogs and chips by classroom
Assist students with condiments as needed
You may be asked to pick up wieners and chips. These can be purchased the day before if needed.
Receipts will be reimbursed by cheque on the hot lunch day.

🍕 Pizza Days

Pick up juice boxes (No Name or President’s Choice) from No Frills. These can be picked up the day before or the same morning.
At 10:45 am, pick up the pizza order from High River Donair & Pizza (in the same parking lot as No Frills).
Sort pizza and juice boxes by classroom for delivery.
Receipts will be reimbursed by cheque after lunch.

🌮 Taco in a Bag

Lead volunteers: Those who have done it before

Arrive at school by 11:00 am
Help prepare taco bags
Set out condiments
Help distribute lunches to classrooms
Assist students with condiments as needed
Help with cleanup

🍣 Sushi

Arrive at The Commons in High River at 10:45 am
Sort sushi orders into classroom groups
Deliver the orders to BCS
Help distribute lunches as needed

🥙 Chicken Wraps

Lead volunteers: Those who have done it before

Helper:
Arrive at The Commons at 9:00 am
Help prepare the wraps

Driver:
Arrive at The Commons at 10:50 am
Deliver wraps to BCS
Drop off the wraps in each classroom

🍔 Burgers

Pick up the burger order from DQ in High River at 11:00 am
Bring the burgers to the school
Sort the burgers by classroom
Help students with condiments as needed
Assist with cleanup

🥟 Perogies & Sausage

Arrive at school by 10:00 am
Help dish out perogies and sausage
Sort and distribute lunches to classrooms
Help students with condiments as needed
Assist with cleanup

🍲 Chili & a Bun

Lead volunteers: Those who have done it before

Arrive at school by 11:00 am
Help prepare lunches
Dish out chili and buns
Deliver lunches to classrooms
Help with cleanup

🧀 Grilled Cheese & Chips

Lead volunteers: Those who have done it before

Arrive at school by 11:00 am
Help prepare lunches
Sort and distribute lunches to classrooms
Assist students with condiments as needed
Help with cleanup
